Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna has expressed his grief over the accidents

Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna has expressed his grief over the
accidents in which 10 people died in separate road accidents at
Champawat and Dehradun districts on Saturday. In his condolence
message, Mr. Bahuguna has prayed for the peace of departed souls and
strength for the bereaved family members. He has also wished for the
early recovery of injured persons. Chief Minister has directed the
concerned District Magistrates to provide permissible relief amount to
the families of deceased persons and injured. He has also instructed
them to ensure comprehensive medical treatment to the injured persons.
According to State Emergency Operations Centre, a Utility Van (UK-07,
CA 2675) with 15 passengers was heading towards Chakrata from Sahiya.
About 2 pm, the vehicle fell into a deep gorge 3 km away from Sahiya
in which 7 persons died and 8 were injured 3 seriously. The injured
were rushed to Vikasnagar Community Health Centre from where 3
seriously injured persons were referred to Lehman Hospital Hurbertpur.
In another incident, a Max (UA-02, 2064) heading towards Tanakpur from
Pithoragarh with 11 passengers had met with an accident at 2 am in
which 3 persons died and 8 others were injured. The injured were
admitted in Tanakpur Joint Hospital.
