Congress candidate Vijay Bahuguna filed his nomination for Sitarganj Assembly By-Election on Wednesday. Kiran Mandal and Mohammed Tahir Ahmed were his proponents.
As soon as Returning Officer PC Dumka issued Election Notification, the nomination process commenced. Mr. Vijay Bahuguna, son of late Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna filed two sets of Nomination at 11.40 am. The returning Officer allowed only five persons to enter the nomination hall. Mr. Bahuguna was accompanied by Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Processing Harish Rawat, Congress State-in-charge Chaudhary Virendra Singh, Cabinet Ministers Dr. Indira Hridayesh,Yashpal Arya and former MLA Kiran Mandal.
Also present on the occasion were Mrs. Sudha Bahuguna, wife of Mr. Bahuguna, Cabintet Ministers Harish Durgapal, Mantri Prasad Naithani, Pritam Singh, District Panchayat Chairperson Shushila Gangwar, former Minister Tilakraj Behad and District Congress President Narayan Singh Bisht.
