Karnataka Lokayukta court orders probe against ex-CMs in Nandi infra project


New Delhi:(Page3 News Network/Newsonair)-The Karnataka Lokayukta special court has ordered enquiry against a few of the former Karnataka Chief Ministers in the Nandi infrastructure Corridor road project.
The Court directed Lokayuktha Additional Director General of Police to enquiry allegations made against 30 accused, including, former Chief Ministers H D Deve Gowda and B S Yeddyurappa and also External Affairs minister S M Krishna.
Lokayuktha Special Judge N K Sudhindra Rao also ordered attaching land allotted to co-developers Umang and Ajmera developers.
The toll collected by the NICE company from road users for the last two years has also been ordered to be attached under the court order.
Complainant and social activist T J Abraham had filed private complaint alleging that several irregularities have taken place throughout the project since its launch in 1995 when the first accused Mr. Deve Gowda was the Chief Minister.
He alleged that successive Chief Ministers allowed irregularities to continue.
Mr B.S. Yeddyurappa, too granted more land for the project. The company which sought 18,313 acres of land for building roads and townships was given 20,193 acres around Bangalore against existing norms.
