An alumnus of National Defence Academy, Pune, theGeneral was commissioned in the RAJPUT REGIMENT of the Indian Army on 15 Dec 1976 and has had a distinguished career in the Armed Forces.
A graduate of Defence Services Staff College, Wellington, the General has done all important courses including the prestigious NDC course at New Delhi. The General has also been the Chief Operations Officer and the National Senior at UNIFIL, Lebanon.
He succeeds Lt Gen PS Bhallawho retired on 30 Nov 2013.
