
Ms Kaur flagged off the annual awareness walk organised by the NGO Indian Cancer Society in New Delhi. She walked half a kilometre to create awareness about cervical cancer that it can be prevented through vaccination and screening.
General public, cancer patients and survivors, school and college students, and army personnel participated in the march. About 74,000 women are diagnosed with cervical cancer every year. The incidence rate rises in 30-34-year-old women and climbs at 55-65 years.
